I have been so busy with other goings on in my life lately managing so many different things I needed a bit of a break for a while. I know I am way behind. www.youtube.com/watch?v=4e8vfR…  I searched all over You Tube spent the whole day and night watching people around the world ring in the New Year, London England put on the most amazing display I have ever seen, set to some pretty good music. A MUST SEE! I wish I had gone to London the New Year's Eve I lived in England for 6 months. Perhaps one day I shall have another chance I do remember watching out our window in Harrow and seeing the whole sky filled with fireworks. Those English sure know how to throw a New Year party!

I have been a Deviant only since this March and have gotten so much encouragement and support in my creative pursuits. Thank you all so very much, every comment, fav, and watch means a lot to me. I must say 2012 had a lot of ups and downs but it was over all a great year thanks in part to all of you and this wonderful place we call Deviantart. I ended my year by finishing up a year long goal of collecting photos of Albion Falls and surrounding area during all 4 seasons yesterday. What a magical day it was, the temperature was just perfect the snow deep fluffy and white, flakes drifting gently down around us and just so beautiful and fun. I had always wanted to see my favorite place blanketed in snow, after several snowless disappointing  winters it finally happened. It was like a dream come true for me. It was no easy task climbing down to the base of the falls in knee deep snow, and I ache all over today but it was so worth it. Another amazing adventure with Mother Nature that shall remain burned in my memory for a lifetime. I have also just started a new Facebook page I call Where My Heart Speaks Loudest it is already looking promising with 14 likes in less than 24 hours. I hope to use it to inspire and uplift others. I would love for some of my supporters on here to come check out or send me a friend request All are welcome just keep it clean and keep it positive and inspiring Again Thank you so much everyone I hope 2013 brings many adventures, inspiration,love and joy your way

As you may have noticed I have changed my profile pic. This is a reflection of the gift I chose to give to myself back in March (2012) I decided to be real. I stopped using permanent hair color, and allowed all of my grey hair to come shining through. I would like to see a world where no one is ashamed of aging, where we do not allow the beauty industry and media to make us feel ugly or feel the need to hide our true selves behind makeup, harsh dyes even surgery all to make them wealthy at the expense of our self worth. As for the grey hair if you have em you EARNED them as far as I'm concerned. I wear mine proudly. I have survived a lot of horrible events in life cried a lot of tears.I have a lot of em for the age of 36 and I love em for I KNOW I earned mine, and I rarely wear makeup anymore (I am not wearing any in my profile photo) We once respected our elders, growing older was not something to be ashamed of. We once looked up to them for their wisdom and admired them for having survived in this crazy world for so long. Everyone is beautiful in their own way no matter their age, weight,gender,or color in my eyes. I also think women are far prettier without makeup. Healthy is beautiful so take care of and love yourselves and take care of and love each other

I just finished "A Peace of Heaven" and it's tutorial www.facebook.com/melanie.cake (find it here). I stayed up into the wee hours creating both. I think the tutorial took just as long as the painting. I hope it was worth it. It is my gift to all of my face book friends and to all of my supporters. I hope you will give it a try regardless of your skill level, it was a joy to paint. I will create a second tutorial for Deviantart, but right now I'm takin' a break...whew!
